Liza Voloshin is an award-winning Director and Photographer dedicated to celebrating joy. Her work spans documentary cinematic short-forms commissioned by American Express and Nike, to advertising for Estée Lauder and Audi, to narrative installations at The Whitney Museum of American Art and the National Black Theatre, to cross-genre music video work with soul musician Adeline and pop icon Katy Perry.
Liza has directed documentary films featuring groundbreaking female athletes in Abu Dhabi, sister-winemakers in Burgundy, and scientists in London. Previous art works include the short film “The Age of Misinformation” in partnership with The Whitney Museum of American Art, and previous documentary work includes a video commission by JW Marriott, nominated for a Webby Award 2023 and winner of the HSMAI Adrian Award 2023.
Liza’s large-scale audio-visual installations include a symphony-cantata, entitled “Her Voice,” spread across Architect Philip Johnson’s renowned Glass House; “Love Into Harmony,” a film and public art installation in conjunction with 29 Rooms, an immersive environment for The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in honor of Elaine de Kooning: Portraits; and a moving poetry commission for Michelle Obama’s ‘When We All Vote’ Foundation in partnership with The National Black Theatre. Her work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Cultured Magazine, DEPARTURES, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Nowness, Playboy, Vanity Fair, Vogue and W Magazine.
As a first-generation American immigrant, Liza’s mission is to represent the resilient happiness interwoven within the human experience. Liza listens to murder mystery podcasts and feeds neighborhood squirrels on long walks.
Liza works and lives between Los Angeles, Paris and New York.
