Peter McCoubrey began his filmmaking career with a number of music videos that garnered him accolades from MTV, Pitchfork, The New York Times, and Entertainment Weekly.
His short horror dramedy The Grey Matter was the recipient of the CANAL + Grand Prix Court-Métrage at the L’Etrange Festival, one of Europe’s premiere genre film festivals. It premiered online via Short of the Week and is currently a Vimeo Staff Pick and is currently available on AMC Networks streaming horror service SHUDDER. His latest short film Therefore I Am, a surreal lo-fi time travel thriller is also a Vimeo Staff Pick and currently being developed at a feature film.
Peter has directed alongside Academy Award winning director Spike Jonze for the Beastie Boys. He has ventured into television with a MTV series titled The Gamekillers. Which was the recipient of a Cannes Lion and One Show award. He’s traveled around the world numerous times to create documentaries, lifestyle, and content films for Apple. He’s written and directed original short films for Adidas, American Express, the NBA and Tommy Hilfiger, traveled to Argentina to shoot LG commercials, launched LYNX (AXE) with a series of spots and films in China, as well as directed NFL superstars for both the NFL Network and Madden for Playstation.
Peter’s an avid photographer and rarely seen without his trusty Leica hanging around his neck. He shoots both film & digital with a passion for documentary, travel, and street photography. After documenting his travels around the world for many years he was hired by Apple to shoot photography in addition to directing films for them. His photographs have been featured by Apple, NFL Network, Leica Camera and NBC.

Peter is currently developing several feature film projects. He lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and two sons.
